Blaqbonez is a Nigerian rapper and singer who was born on January 29, 1996, in Lagos, Nigeria. His real name is Emeka Akumefule, but he is better known by his stage name, Blaqbonez. He grew up in a family that was very supportive of his music career, and he started rapping at a young age.

 

Blaqbonez attended the prestigious Greensprings School in Lagos, where he was known for his musical talent. He later went on to study Computer Science at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, but he dropped out to pursue his music career full-time.

 

In 2011, Blaqbonez released his first mixtape, “Hip-Hop in Blaq,” which received critical acclaim and helped to establish him as a rising star in the Nigerian music scene. Blaqbonez’s breakthrough came in 2018 with the release of his single “Play,” which quickly became a hit in Nigeria and helped to establish him as one of the country’s most promising young artists. He followed this up with several more successful singles, including “Mamiwota” (featuring Oxlade) and “Shut Up.”
